There is a lot that goes in to marketing on Social Networking sites such as MySpace. You have to know your audience and what they like and dislike, what they are looking for and then set a goal to find a way to fulfill the needs of the many.
You have to do your homework:
* Age ranges
* Major areas of interest
* The member goals
* Watch what other marketers are targeting and how
I have found a niche in working with band promotions and advertising. There is a huge number of artists, whether they be bands, songwriters, musicians, singers who are all looking for the lucky break. They need their profiles built and promoted, and because MySpace is pretty much a big popularity contest in many ways, they have got to stand out above the rest.
Now that record labels and talent scouts have taken to surfing MySpace for talent now is the time to really take those who have the talent and desire to succeed and help them stand out in the crowd.
I go above and beyond and use various forms of advertising with these groups, I do not simply just add friends to a profile. It is useless to add the friends if the profile is unattractive, or has nothing to offer those who visit.
There is so much potential in so many areas with MySpace if you just look, pay attention and turn an area of need into a business opportunity.
