I can not stand a mess either. And for the calendar, I need at least 2 months ahead, so I use the big desk top one, but it is push pinned on the wall. Still very visible, but I can also look ahead.

Cork though - that I should try!!

My desks are usually immaculate. I hate clutter and find that the messier the desk, the less productive I am. I have a filing cabinet with a bill organizer on it, and I bring home the mail, drop the bills into the correct slot for when they are due, shred the junk and never set anything on the desk directly. For other stuff like calendars, appointments, contact, to-do lists, and what have you, I figure I have a computer in front of me all the time, so I'll just use software for all of that.
