How Did Your Upgrade To Wordpress 2.8 Go?

Hi All,

well, aint this lovely. Wake up to see yet another
major new version.

ok, great. morning work!

Upgrading was pretty smooth, only had 10% of
my plugins fail.

biggest problems, I had was with nextgen-gallery.
which I think they are working on.

Boy they have redone the heck out of theme, widget
and plugin features in this new version.

I always wait a week or two before I upgrade on major upgrades like this. There always seems to be some sort of bug or error problem right away that they release a series of patches for. I'll probably start changing my sites over next week.

hey, don't blame ya.

Only thing I really like about it, is kind of
retarded to like. but I like it telling me
how many plugins I have, both active and
inactive.

thats about the best of it. , or at least
I haven't messed around with the new hooks.

By this time next week there will be 3 patches and a string of "it broke my blog" remarks -lol-

It seems like these last few big releases have been so close together. We used to go ages without a big update, just little patches. Now the dashboard has changed quite a few times, functions are being added. I think the guys at WP are on caffeine overdrive this year.

If it's not a security upgrade I always wait and let other people work out the bugs. Plus waiting gives all the plugin developers time to upgrade the plugins so I can just do it all at once.

think of security, also. it works in both directions.

upgrade and you can make your plugins (fail/) be
unsafe to even run. Depending on the changes
to the codex.

The ladder is upgrade to improve security, so
either way your screwed.

Yeah, those boys and gals over there at wordpress
are kicken out some code.
