The Return Of The Early American Gold Rush Fever ....

The year was 1848. President James Polk said :

“ The accounts of the abundance of gold in that territory are of such extraordinary character as would scarcely command belief were they not corroborated by authentic reports of officers in the public service.”

Polk’s simple words led people from all work of life to make plans for The Great Gold Rush. Thousands of adventurers dubbed “ forty-niners” ( because they left home in 1849 )with one collective dream- join the bandwagon in return for a lifetime of riches…

Fast forward – more than a hundred years later, I was also caught up in Similar Fever- Online marketing!

And to my surprise, they are also many modern adventurers like me in this Fever! I always have been fascinated by the Internet and genuinely believe that there are gold and abundance of riches in Online Marketing. We all believe that all we need to succeed is to advertise and spend money to get leads.

The consolation we have is that we made hundreds of friends over the years and finally we asked ourselves- What did we do wrong?

After many late nights brainstorming, I suddenly felt like Newton being hit by the falling apple!

We are no different from the forty-niners.! The early American Gold Rush Fever have caused countless gold diggers heart broken. Of course, they are some lucky one that managed to find some gold. But a lot of the Hardware store owners selling gold digging tools to the gold diggers in the Great Gold Rush found great wealth !

I discussed this analogy with my hundreds of friends and we all agreed that the real beneficiary in the early Gold Rush are the hardware stores owners and likewise also the real beneficiary in the Online Marketing are the Advertisers and those selling all the internet tools to us!

President James Polk was selling Opportunity and dreams to the “ forty-niners” in the 1840’s ! More than one hundred years later, Lots of Online Marketers are also selling Opportunity and Dreams to all of us. Like the forty-niners, we thought that with these Online Marketing tools , we will find our quick Gold in the Internet!

Now, we realized that to achieve success in anything including the Internet, there is no quick fix or short cut. No Online marketing tools can do miracle for quick success. Real success requires the Internet entrepreneurs to build up their business slowly over the years.

Take a look at what the GURUs (Mike Filsaime, Dr. James Brown , Ewen Chia ..) are selling, you will know the REAL GOLD in online marketing is not those Opportunity Programs, it is in the tools , products with REAL value that meet online marketers / visitor's needs !
