Avatar control panel problems

Postby philwong » Tue Sep 16, 2008 9:57 am

Hello all. I am new to this forum and I have a problem with the avatar control panel - it says to not have an avatar 80 x 80 pixels and less than 6 kb.

Well, I edited my picture to that size and it is slightly bigger than a pinhead when viewed on my PC. Will this actually come out ok?

Can someone please tell me how this works?

Thanks Lynn for pointing the way on the offsite URL, I got stuff on flickr, but the dang control panel says the url is not recognised. Either flickr's got a problem or I got a problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Regards
Philip.

Ok. I think i sorted it out by using photobucket instead. So it's a flickr problem.

I think it's time to move to photobucket then.

One other question. Can the avatar be slightly larger? Lynn's avatar looks really large...well, she IS the Site Admin... :-)

Something to put up in the FAQ perhaps Lynn?

Photos to be uploaded to the offsite URL like photobucket.

Photobucket has the links on each image when you view it.

Click on the link required and photobucket automatically copies it to your clipboard.

Paste it in the offsite URL link in the avatar control panel and tada! Done!

Hi Philip,

just curious, do you have a domain name and a hosting account somewhere?

If so, then you can host your own images and not have to mess with that photobucket stuff.
