GRAB YOUR FACEBOOK NAME NOW!

Postby AlexNewell » Sat Jun 13, 2009 1:46 am

There's only a few hours left to take advantage of this facebook virtual "landgrab"

My FB name is now http://www.facebook.com/alex.newell

what's your facebook name like?

Go here NOW http://www.facebook.com/username

( I think that's a "Call to Action" :-) )

This is one of the biggest expansions of virtual vre for years and if you want to brand yourself and network - this is important...

Just do it.

Honestly - did we all think someone was going to go grab our personal names? Someone can only have ONE personal account at FB. I honestly don't see what the big uber deal is or need to wait up til midnight to grab the name. Overly hypey to me.

There's lots of people with the same name or similar name! My friend has had her name nabbed because someone with a similar name grabbed it!

Yeah, I guess if you have a common name - that would be true. Still, could use .htaccess to redirect them to your regular FB account and give them whatever FB URL you want, so just sayin'.... ;)

You know, that's one thing I haven't quite figured out yet. It's on my learning to-do list.

But you're right on that point - for people like us.

But - there are LOADS of people on FB - who just don't know how to do that stuff. It is going to be so much easier for them, especially, to give people their URLs.

Hahaha! Yeah, good thing!! ;)

But I'm talking more about people that totally aren't into blogging or anything like that.

But I also think it's going to be good for branding for all of us.

I didn't even know about it until late this afternoon but I wasn't worried. I don't think there are too many Monna Ellithorpe's out there. LOL

I rec'd Lynn's email about it this morning but didn't realize what it was all about.

I got mine last night .... http://www.facebook.com/lorettaoliver I wasn't too worried about someone stealing my name. There is another Loretta Oliver out there (and oddly into fibre art things, which caused confusion with my cross stitch site) but anyway... Yay for easy to use FB url's, no more ugly number strings!

Got mine too. I'm not sure how popular my name is but so far it's been quite easy signing up for accounts with my name. http://www.facebook.com/bina.omar
