I voted no, as well. I'm finding Twitter to be more useful all the time.
In fact, in his comments to the article, the author killed his own argument because he said he was talking about other services that use Twitter as part of their service.
I think we're smart enough to make our own choices about which Twitter adjunct services we want to use.
I use Twitterific and they serve an ad every now and then. It's unobtrusive and I've found some of them to be of value.
I'm certainly not one of the people who thinks of advertising as the great evil. Without advertising, much of what we do every day would not be available, including this forum, I'd wager.
