I just published my news letter in webpage format, this is what it looks like

To me the above site looks fine, my screen resolution is 1024x768

but I just got this from one of my subscribers

Your news letter web pages are way too wide, as they cannot be viewed without scrolling back and forth horizontally constantly. I am viewing at 1280x1024 resolution on a 21 inch monitor and still have to scroll back and forth to read it.


How can I develop a template that is compatible with all screen settings ?

Hi Ross,

I am in 1024x768 as well, and it looks okay to me (no horizontal scrolling). I was going to suggest that at the top of the html you change:

table border="5" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="5" bordercolor="#0000FF"

to:

table width="800" border="5" align="center" cellpadding="5" cellspacing="5" bordercolor="#0000FF"

... but that didnt seem to do much good, honestly. There is quite a bit of code clean-up that could be done, that might help, but it would take me a bit. I've experienced firsthand how frustrating it can be to take code from an email to an html editor - and then try to turn it into "clean code". I would suggest starting over with a blank html page and then putting each of your elements in by hand (images, tables, etc) - pasting the text in from a plain text editor (open in plain text and then copy & paste into your html editor) and then formatting that text *after* you get it into your new html document. Does that make sense?
