generator meta tags

What is the generator meta tag and how can i use it?

Meta tags will be unique to each web page, meaning you want the keywords and description to match the page they are on.
As for the “keyword meta tag” in the actual HTML code of your page, this is not necessary. You can place your keyword phrases here for good measure, but only your primary and secondary keyword phrases (no “stuffing” - it looks spammy).
You DO want to use the Description meta tag to write a descriptive sentence or two about the web page, as this will show up in the search results.

I thought he was talking about the 'generator" META tag.
the one that tells you what program was used to "generate" the web page/site.
like this one that took me 10 minutes to find a site that actually uses it:
