Initially when I first developed his site, we just wanted to get him clown jobs and costume characters jobs, now based on what I have learned, informed him to do some affiliate stuff on his site eventually.

Lynn....could his site not be a birthday party or birthday party ideas theme site to create multiple door entries theme site, and one of the tiered pages be focused on local clowns for his area, this way he can monetize his site, or he could create a theme as well for kids birthday party ideas more focused on kids but he just does not do kids parties...based on this does lynn would it be ok to still go for something like birthday party ideas to create more monetization opportunities

then create focused sub niche themes based off the more general one, which would cover offering clown entertainment to grand opening businesses, seniors, teens, etccc who could use this clown entertainment services, since adults do use his service besides kids parties, and other related birthday party services, such as d J, decorations, candy machines, suppies, chair rentals etcccc

Absolutely. There's nothing wrong with doing a huge themed site and including the information for the local event planning on its own section. I just didnt advise using such a broad keyword phrase to promote his service, is all.
