Hey all, I recently launched a site using 1&1's Website Builder. I thought a WYSIWYG format would be the way to go for me, since I'm not familiar with computer code. I like the way my site looks, and was able to add some Amazon html links on my "Books" page. As I got ready to drive some traffic to my site using participation on online forums, I tried to add some Google AdSense ads to my site, but was summarily informed by the tech support that this was impossible, since the ads are in JavaScript (even though there's an HTML option on Google? I don't get it). Well, I wasn't able to find a live person to talk to at Google to help me figure this out, and so am left to conclude that my intended primary means of income from my site is out of reach using 1&1.
Surfing the net last week for tips on flattening my abs, I found a great info site by a gal named Lisa who, as it turns out, used a package called Site Build It! () which has an annual fee of $299. It sounds as if this company does a lot more for you than 1&1 does, especially in teaching SEO--35% of their clients are in the top 1% of all search engine rankings. I wanted to know whether anyone else were familiar with this package, what you all thought, and whether you had any ideas for my moving forward.
If you look at my site, you can see that I still need to add a lot of content, but I'm interested in any advice people may have for me.
Thanks!
Sarah
