Where to buy quality photos subscription service

My wife has a webpage design business that is really taking off and she would like to subscribe to a photo subscription service. Any suggestions? She does not want to go the free photos route. She has exhausted that avenue.

I know that Photos.com charges $599 for a one year subscription. Anyone know of another good photos subscription service so we can compare? Any recommendations?

Hi Rob,
is where I get most of my stock images - they start at $1 for low res images and go up to about $5 for high res images.

You could also try and I'm also starting to dig (they have some great quality photos). Both start at about $1 per image.

And, there's always the possibility of taking your own if you have a nice quality digital camera.

By the way, forgot to mention that if your wife goes subscription service exclusively, she can expect to pay roughly $500-$3000 per year depending on where she goes.

Purchasing tokens (which can last up to a year) would probably be a better route because she can use them as she needs them and buy more if she runs out.

If she plans to use about 500-600 stock images a year or do a ton of print work (which require the high res images), then the subscription service might be best, otherwise...it's overkill IMO.

It very much depends on what type of stock images your wife needs. Itsock ones are really cheap, but sometimes it is impossible to find a suitable image..In http://creative.gettyimages.com the images are much nicer than on istock but the price is higher as well

I think your wife should offer to her clients both a cheaper and more expensive option for stock images. I have noticed that clients are very willing to pay more for an image if they like it a lot. You know, the graphics make a big difference..

But no matter what stock site she chose, she better check what is included in the subscription price..some clients demand exclusivity to use a certain image, and e.g in istockphoto this has to be additionally negotiated with the photographer..I used to deal with such a case and guess what - the designer who turned out to be russian requested ~ $20K for exclusivity rights for a photo which was nothing special..

So better check carefully the terms and conditions for using any stock images before buying..

I second www.istockphoto.com. I also recommend www.dreamstime.com - both start at $1 for stock photos.
