The successful candidate will have a professional, upbeat, customer-service attitude; maintain great attention to detail with excellent follow-through; take pride in exceeding expectations; and work well both independently and as part of a group.
Primary responsibilities include:
*Customer Service
- Assist customers in choosing appropriate products for their needs through our online store and at our live workshops
- Resolve customer inquiries via phone or email in a professional, warm manner
- Track and troubleshoot customer orders (returns, undelivered, damaged, etc.), by phone and via email
- Accurately process customer orders through our fulfillment house, including coordination of orders placed through Amazon.com
- Coordinate with our product fulfillment house, including invoice and order reconciliations
*Support Products Department:
- Help maintain our online store products images, descriptions, and updates
*Live Workshops:
- Process customer orders and payments
- Assist customers in choosing appropriate products for their needs
- Assist with setting up and dismantling product displays
Work hours will usually be 15-25 hours a week, M-F, between 9am and 5pm. In addition, we produce five weekend workshops in Seattle each year and being available to staff the product sales team on these 5 Sundays is a requirement for this position.
We provide specific guidelines about your home office, and you must be prepared to meet those guidelines to ensure confidentiality, quality and productivity. We prefer candidates who live within a 50-mile radius of Seattle.
We have monthly staff meetings and other occasional meetings which you would be expected to attend in our Sand Point/U Village area offices. You will also assist the Products Department Director as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least one year of relevant work experience in customer service; or, high school diploma plus five or more years of relevant customer service experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Home office with dedicated work space, including computer, printer and high speed internet connection, in Seattle-area location (home office must be arranged to assure customer confidentiality for phone conversations, data entry, records and reports);
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook;
- 2 or more years experience with database entry, reporting and information tracking, preferably with a CRM database (we use Salesforce);
- Demonstrated ability to articulate information with accuracy and professionalism in writing, in person and over the phone;
- Availability to help staff the products store at live workshops including five Sundays per year;
- Ability to successfully complete multiple tasks and projects in a deadline-oriented environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail and follow-through with a minimum of direction.
Preferred experience, skills, and abilities:
- Experience with international customers
- Ability to read, write and/or speak at least one language in addition to English
- Knowledge of and experience with various online technologies, and basic knowledge of internet marketing tools and techniques
- Successful experience working in a telecommuting situation
