As a Work at Home employee, you are responsible for obtaining your own computer system and home office, consistent with the requirements described below:
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows, MAC, OS drivers, and TCP/IP protocols
Strong knowledge of PC hardware/software and familiarity with data products and services
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to work self sufficiently and effectively in a home-based work environment
Ability to consistently handle a high volume of customer calls in a professional manner throughout the workday
Previous technical support experience is preferred
Systems Requirements:
1. At-Home Technical Support Technicans are responsible for having access to the following minimum technical requirements for "at home" work in this position:
PC with a minimum of Windows XP, 1.5 GHz Processor, 1 GB RAM, USB Webcam, DVD player, PC headset & microphone, and latest virus & spyware software.
Must have EMBARQ telephone service
Must have EMBARQ High Speed Internet Service, minimum speed (1.5 mbps)
2. Must meet the following Embarq physical/logistical requirements for "at home" work in this position:
Dedicated space with adequate work surface
Work area must be free from background noise and distractions
Live in EMBARQ territory
