Website Review: Sketchplanet - Draw Online

Postby misohoni » Sun Jan 04, 2009 3:09 am

Sketchplanet is an online community where you can register and then add your sketches.

You can just browse through and see what is there or once you register you can add your own pictures to the database.

How can I improve it? I'm looking for improvements in layout, SEO, loading times etc., Thanks guys!

The site is clean and basic looking which is the look you wanted from the beginning, nothing wrong that as long as it works for you. I see you already have a PR4 so you must have been doing something right.

To improve on it, maybe add some testimonials and a little more text of the benefits of becoming a member or joining. Either put it at the top or in the left column. That's all I got for now.

I think the header area has too much wasted space height wise. The green band is rather high and doesn't contain much. When I'm on my desktop, it's not a big deal, but when I look at it from my laptop the green band takes up about 1/3rd of the screen.

There's a sketchbox inside the green band but it doesn't really say to use it or if it's just part of the header. Now, I was poking around so I sketched in it and realized it takes you to the registration page, but I'm not sure everyone will realize that. It's kind of confusing.
