Stuck In The MIddle Of The Lake

Well, that is what I was yesterday for about an hour. Our boat just decided to turn off and not run. When you wave at other boaters, most just want to wave back thinking you are waving at them. Luckily these people in a sailboat came and asked if we needed help. They started pulling us back to the boat launch when another boat seen and helped because it would have took forever for the sailboat to take us back.

Yikes, sorry to hear about that. That would be ZERO fun.

I'm not sure what the standard is for signaling trouble in a boat. Is it a red flag?

Here a red flag is when you have someone out in the water as in swimming, wake boarding, etc. Not sure what a signal is for when you are stuck, LOL. Luckily there were lots of boaters out yesterday. Even got some sunburn.

I ran the boat aground on a sand bar out in the gulf one time.
A very nice man in another boat, came to the rescue.

He ran his boat up on the sand bar and hopped out to help push us off.

Once we got free, I looked back and his boat had drifted off the sand bar leaving him stranded in the middle of the gulf of mexico.

I had to go back and take his boat back to him and thank him profusely.

All in all, it was an amusing afternoon.

Seems like boaters should come up for a code for when they need help.
