If I may weigh in?
I'll just tell ya right out... I'm 52 and my new favorite is Pink. Yeah, no joke. I made the mistake of looking for videos after I had been listening for a while and I wish I hadn't. Her music I love, the videos? Not so much.
I've never had an Ipod, done anything with an MP3, don't download music or buy a song at a time on the internet. BUT, I found a website called Deezer.com and have been known to have the wireless headphones plugged into my computer for hours at a time listening to favorites and new stuff I wouldn't be exposed to normally.
On one playlist I have, among others, The B52s' Love Shack, Elton John's Funeral for a Friend, Tears for Fears' two hits, Eric Clapton, BB King, Albert King, Stevie Ray Vaughn (who I hope I get to meet in Heaven), Janis Joplin, Brownsville Station (a weird little tune I remember from high school called "The Martian Boogie", Tower Of Power, GreenDay, Average White Band, The Ides of March, Kung Fu Fighting by Carl Douglas, Rush, and the most beautiful song ever recorded (and was played at my wedding) , Everything I Do (I Do It For You) by Bryan Adams.
If we had a "Nanny-Cam" you could see me dancing with the headphones on in the glow of the computer at 3AM. Now, that word picture ought to be enough to give anybody nightmares.
