Does anyone use Moneybookers?

Postby Oliver Benn » Fri Sep 22, 2006 1:29 am

I am looking for a payment processor, that allows digital products.
Moneybookers.com seems to be quite interesting.

Is anybody using their services?
What are your experiences?
What are the cons?

I have an account with them and I have requested payment from them twice. Both times I had no problems receiving the checks and they arrived in just a few days.

This is what other people mentioned as well.

Did you ever need their support? I am wondering, how quick and helpful they are.

I am interested in their merchant gateway. On one page, they stated they would charge 8%, on the other page 5% for verified credit cards and 8% for all other credit cards.

I emailed them yesterday and am currently waiting for their reply.

Is it true, that they send an sms to unregistered credit card holders for
verification? This would require all my potential customers to own a cell phone.

Hi Oliver,

I have not used their merchant gateways so I can not comment on that.

I did use their support services though and they were fairly prompt (maybe 2 days?) and helpful sorting out the issue.

I don't have a credit card attached to my account (or a bank account for that matter) and I never had any issues recieving checks. I don't recall a SMS request so maybe that is a new feature.
