Photos - Any good sites?

Postby heather2 » Thu Jul 21, 2005 8:08 pm

I'm looking for free or low cost business pictures (photos). The places I have seen have really cheesy ones. Does anyone know of good sites I can check out?

TIA!

I'm a member of Clipart.com. They have high quality photos. Their one week membership is around $15..

The good thing is that you can find the photo first before you purchase. So..take a look

I always do a search on Google - the first site listed has some great ones. You want to search for "free stock photos"

Here's mine: Free Stock Photos Search on Google

Hope that helps!

You may also want to check out stock x.change or iStockPhoto - both are good sources for free/low cost images, but it's important to read through their terms.

I second the vote for www.istockphoto.com!

They've got great images in different sizes for all kinds of subjects and they're very reasonably priced.

You should definitely check them out!

Heather,

Check out: www.corbis.com .

They have some really high quality images and you can get some of them "royalty free" without any cost you just have to sign up for a membership to their site.

Heather,

When you get to the Search page (http://pro.corbis.com/default.aspx) there is a checkbox that says "Rights Managed" make sure you uncheck that box (it is checked by default).

Once you do that the only images that will be displayed as a result of your search will be Royalty Free images.

Hope that helps.

They are Royalty Free but when I click on any of the pictures for prices, they are like $60, $80, etc.

Hmmmm....

Heather,

You can pay for them if you want but you don't have to.

Once you see the results of your search (making sure you are logged in first) click on one of the images.

A new window will open up with a larger version of the image displayed.

Right click and "Save As..." and you will be able to download it to your computer.

Oh really? I never know what's legit or not. It always feels like I'm stealing? Can I ask why they have the option to buy if you can get if for free?

BTW - THANK YOU for your help! :)

Heather,

I don't know why they have both options to be honest.

I actually found out how to do this by accident.

I was looking at some images and noticed in the pop-up window it said something about being Royalty Free and I contacted them and I was told I could use those for free.

Your Welcome.
