If your scanner is not up to scale or you simply don't like your signature, you can also go scouting for more fonts. Do a search in the search engine for just "fonts" and you'll find plenty. I can't remember the site, but it had hundreds of free font styles. Some of them looked like real hand writing and stuff.

Steve's advice is the best route - I've done mine that way.

If you DO go with a special font, you want to create an image out of it instead of trying to use the font in HTML code. That way anyone with any computer will see the image (and the font in that image) without having to download that font onto their computer.

I used these guys. Same process as above but instead of scanning it you send it to them and they send it back to you ready for use. Only 10 bucks.

If you're fairly proficient with corel, illustrator or even photoshop, here's a step up from the original idea of scanning and saving your signature.

After you've scaneed and loaded your signature into your favorite agraphic program, open a new layer above the original scan and "trace" over your signature with the pen or line tool. Once you have a rough outline of the image, covert it to curves and use your select tool to "massage" the lines into the exact shape of your signature, add the approriate storke or outline weight, optimize, save for web and you're done.

An additional advantage is, that you can change the color of your signature to match your site color's
