Adsense Link unit ..... Sucks

Postby Shaffir » Thu Jul 12, 2007 9:33 pm

Yup that's my opinion on adsense link unit.

You know why I hate link unit's even these are the most clickable ads in the program.

First of all, I had install link unit onto my website and ends up as a search box for ads. That so, not.

When I used the ads configuration on the blogger old platform it's works fine but on the new blogger it shows as a search box. I'm not sure why. But I had test and test few times and it happens on the new blogger either I used 468x15 or 768x15 format. it's always the same.

But on other site's I can see they are using multiple Link Unit on the same page. This is so... not good as the TOC says that 1 Link Unit.

The best way that I have found to use link units is to go with the 4 line ad and place it vertically on the left side of your page so that it looks like a menu bar. Works good for me! :)

I realize that this is an older thread but ...

The reason a "link unit" sometimes appears as a searchbox is that Google doesn't find enough content to make an evaluation to add appropriate "ad links" there or doesn't have enough appropriate ads to show at that particular time.

Until it does, at least it shows a searchbox and allows the visitor to add a search item for what they want and you will still get credit for the click.

NOTHING to get too excited about!
