Hiring People To Post In Forums?

Has anyone here hired people to post in forums and blogs?

If yes,

- how did you find your employees?

- how much did you pay them?

- how did you track results?

- was it worth it?

It might happen that search engines stop counting forum posts when determining pagerank (if they haven't already), but the advantage in having a decent forum history is that you can build up a reputation in a community and when they really get to know who you are and maybe even value or trust your opinion you can start pushing your products. You get a community that knows and trusts you a bit, and then you get them to know your products. It could work, but it isn't likely to make for really big sales.

Has anyone looked at http://www.helium.com/
I was thinking of using their service. You can post what kind of article you're looking to have written and how much your willing to pay. Multiple people will write the article and you can pick the one that you like best.

I think you can buy articles that have been written but no one bought from their archive.

This sounds like a good idea. Just last week I posted a bid request on rentacoder.com for 60 articles to be written with the idea of posting them on blogs. It would be time consuming so would be very interested in paying someone to undertake.
