How To Make Money On Parked Domains?

Postby MommyEnterprises » Thu Nov 20, 2008 12:59 pm

I have a few domains that are parked. What are some ideas to make some extra money with them?

ell, you could set up a PayPal account to allow purchase of domain parking, but the money you would make would be small. It is just a friendly thing one can do. Expect anyone parked on your domain to help pay bandwidth and periodical fees though.

are you talking about allowing others to park their domains at your hosting account?

most hosting accounts allow domain parking. most registrars will park it for free, so why would anyone need this service.

also, this is not what she asked about.

she has parked domains and was wondering about how to make money with them.

Unless you have a lot of parked domains, it is probably not worth the effort in trying to monetize them - you just wont get the traffic.

If you get the traffic it is worth building a site out.

That said, searchfeed.com had an interface for building an easy search page that you could put up on an unused domain.

You can now choose "Adsense for Domains" from your Adsense account. Hook it up with any parked and unused domains and they will begin to show relative Adsense ads.

Other than that, you can always buy and auction domains over at http://www.sedo.co.uk

I liked Lynn's idea she mentioned in the webinar recently. She registered a domain just to redirect an affiliate link. She registered a name relating to the product, but any domain name could be used, I suppose. She said Go Daddy lets you set this up for free. I haven't tried it.
