I found it interesting that just above your post, I saw one of those 'rotation' ads, that time for an outfit that bundles $3.75/mo hosting and $5/year domain registration. In keeping with my recommendation, you might want to consider hosting there, but not registering a domain.
OTOH, $3.75/month is a price that reflects *major* overselling, sort of like overbooking on an airline flight. If you have a busy site that needs close to the amount of bandwidth promised every month, then 1) you are unlikely to be satisfied with the performance of this sort of hosting, and 2) you are very likely to be asked to take your hosting elsewhere, or get "bumped".

Here's a shorthand list of what you can do, then:
1. Gain access to your account with TotalChoice (skip this if you can log
in).
2. Ensure your domain's contact info is updated. Do so if you have to
(again, skip this if it's already updated)
3. Ask TotalChoice re: transferring out. Be as specific as you can.
Howard, I just checked ICANN's list of accredited registrars and WWD is
listed among them. I guess that means they're not a reseller for GD...
Shel, like Howard said, better to have your domain with an actual registrar
and your hosting elsewhere, if need be, especially if you are now growing
beyond what your hosting provider currently gives you...

Ooops. well, no. I don't think so. It's up for renewal this month, on the 29th. I figured I'd transfer and renew it all at the same time. Right?
Can I not do that? Oh lordy. I think we need to have domain keepers to keep up with this stuff. You know, people we hire to watch out for our best interests. You know, sort of like bookkeepers!
Hurry and write that book and keep it in plain English. Or, better yet, hire yourself out as a domain keeper!
