Host company location-is it important?

Hello everyone,
I have one short question.Host company(server) location-is it important?
Does it matters for website opening speed or other issues?As I live in small country in Europe (Lithuania) I find some better deals on hosting in USA and outside my own country.

It doesn't really matter. I would go with USA based server since you will receive a lot better price since bandwidth is cheaper. Bandwidth can be very expensive in some European countries and others areas like Australia, etc. so most use companies with USA hosted servers. Unless you're targeting local market I wouldn't worry about location. Check the companies track record, reliability, supports over location. I like Dream Host, Surpass Hosting, and I hear good things about Host Gator.
