all good advice.
make sure all your sites are working on the new host before you tell your old host anything.
once you have the files uploaded and have changed the DNS, there will be no downtime, you do not have to worry about timing it when your visitors are least likely to be there. your domain name will just keep working at the old server until it makes the switch for a given visitor, nobody will notice anything at all.
also, do NOT use godaddy for hosting any phpbb or other type of php/mysql based web apps.
they do not have a clue about web hosting.
oh, don't forget to backup all your databases from the old host so you can restore them on your new host.
they are not in the ftp with your other files. backing up databases is a whole other process than backing up your files.
