Forum types - threaded or phpBB-style?

I have a question about types of forums. I have an idea for a new forum website that I anticipate won't be extremely high traffic, but will get a consistent flow, and the visitors may or may not be web savvy. What are your thoughts on the different types of forums? Are threaded forums, like http://www.auctionhints.com/message/webbbs_config.pl? , out of style? Or should I stick with what I know, phpBB?

I would stick with phpBB..
From what I know, webBBS stores the data in a text file. I believe MySQL is much more secure than a text file stored in your web space.. and also webBBS isn't free..but phpBB is

With phpBB you can do more things by adding plugins and hacks..
If you have some budget, I would go with vBulletin

I myself really like the phpbb style of forums and I LOVE that they are free to use!!
