phpBB Mass Email Question

I had filed this away to refer to later when I had more time to get this figured out. Thanks for your help on this Robert.

So where it says:

Use SMTP Server for email
Say yes if you want or have to send email via a named server instead of the local mail function

I need to choose YES. Right?

Where it says:

SMTP Server Address

In my case is that yoshi2me.com?
How would that look exactly?

Where it says:

SMTP Username
Only enter a username if your SMTP server requires it

Is that where I would log in to yoshi2me.com to check on stuff? Is it that user name? Boy this is confusing.

Where it says:

SMTP Password
Only enter a password if your SMTP server requires it

I'm guessing that's the password that I use to log in and check my statistics, etc?

So it's my understanding if I can get this figured out then I should be able to send out a mass mailing to my Message Board Members, right?

I tried everything that you suggested Robert ~

I get this note when I use a user name and pass:

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 502 unimplemented (#5.5.1)

I get this note when I leave those fields blank:

I have this: Use SMTP Server for email set to "No" and the rest of those fields left blank. And yes, it is working fine for me!

ok ~ I attempted to use my isp vs my hosting provider smtp and this is the error note that comes up:

Ran into problems sending Mail. Response: 502 Command is locally disabled

I'm going to do what you have suggested and replace the emailer.php with a "fresh" one.

It can't hurt to try because I think a long time ago the whole mass e-mail function used to work for me and now all of a sudden it doesn't.

I tried replacing it with the original emailer.php file and that didn't seem to work.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that I have over 1,000 members on my forum?

When I try to send out a note to the mods it works just fine.

When I try to send out a note to all it doesn't work.
