I think I have version 6, and I got this version from my web hosting package. I have no clue how to upgrade. Is there a good book I can purchase from Barnes and Noble to teach me about all this stuff?

I am looking forward to building a homeschooling forum that is really active. The last thing I want (I am sure the last thing ANYONE wants) is hacking. Can hackers cause the registered members to get viruses when they visit a forum?

I am starting to get some members. Should I make it my goal this weekend to try and upgrade to 12?

You can get pretty much anything you'd ever need for your forum from phpbb.com (at no cost). The upgrades are generally easy, as you just follow the "readme" steps one after the other. Anything you arent sure about you are welcome to ask here - and your host support team may be helpful for things on their end as well.

Too, Robert is generally available to do the upgrades if you'd just rather not worry with it
