Ban Poster's Images In phpBB?

Postby CorpRebel » Sun Jun 17, 2007 1:43 pm

Hi Folks!

Is there a way to ban all posters from having images in their posts with phpBB forum software? I don't see anything in the admin area. Maybe a mod or hack?

It's a pain enough with the p*rn link spam but now they're also posting the "pics" in their posts.

I've also been checking over at the phpBB forum but nothing yet.

Thanx!

## MOD Title: Disable Image BBcode (Important)
## MOD Author: FuNEnD3R < admin@funender.com >  www.funender.com

##
##
## MOD Description: This hack will give you the option of either removing existing images posted
##                  in the forums, leave existing and only disable new image postings, or both.
##
## MOD Version: 1.00
##
## Installation Level: Easy
## Installation Time: 2 Minutes

##############################################################
## Author Notes: The importance of removing images from being posted of your forum is not
##               only related to page load time, but security as well.  Recently someone on my forum
##               was using bbcode's [IMG] function to post his images on his topics (nothing wrong with that)
##               however since these images were remotely hosted on his own site, he had a site stats program
##               that recorded info regarding anyone who downloaded his images (such as user IP, Browser info, anything an
##               admin can see about a forum member) So by posting remote images on topics he was able to view the IP for
##               and other info from anyone who viewed the topic.
##
##               This hack that removes images in your forum would prevent this from happening.  You may also want to         ##               consider disabling remote avatar hosting as well via your ACP configuration. This hack is compatiable
##               with phpBB2 2.11
