I have an ebook on everything you want to know about managing people, about 200 pages 8.5 x 11. I am going to paperback using Lightning Source Inc, a Print-On-Demand priinter. This means that they print them one at a time and use their parent company, Ingram, to do serve as a distributor except to the big guys like Amazon. They cover 90% of all bookstores.
The book will be 260 pages and cost $4.28. The book's selling price is $15.95 and I give a 35% discount to retailers like Amazon or any bookstore. So I clear $6.08 per book sold.
POD is a relatively new capability emanating from the advances in print and digital technology. If you want a great book on it get Morris Rosenthal's "Print-On-Demand Book Publishing". You are your own publisher and as Morris points out, your own marketeer which is good since publishers do not do marketing of your book unless maybe you are Bill Clinton or Sammy Sosa. The internet being what it is today is all you need as a small publisher.
Hope this helps, Ben Simonton
