I feel comfortable asking newbie questions here, because you're all so friendly and supportive.
Is an e-book a book that has been transcribed from paper to online? Or is an e-book a book that has been specifically written online, and can only be accessed online? What is the purpose of e-books? Are e-books free? Do you have to pay first in order to read them? How does it work?
I've been reading an online book lately called The Science of Getting Rich, by Wallace Wattles. Is that an e-book? It's free, in fact I printed it out into hard copy. No one asked me for money. Is that normal?
I've also been reading Benjamin Franklin's autobiography online--again, it's free. Is that considered an e-book?
So I'm wondering what exactly e-books are. I appreciate people sharing and educating me about this.
Thanks!
