There is a software script out there called . It deals with many merchant data feeds. It's pretty kewl piece of software!

Another thing with the AWS is that you can only cache the data for a certain period of time.

So even if you had a script to query the API to pull the XML and convert it into CSV you would have to do so over and over and over again to follow the TOS for the AWS.

If your products are largely static, then you should probably be able to just go with a simple CSV file that your affiliates can download.

You might even provide several different versions of the datafeed such as "lite", "extended" and "complete" to put less stress on your server.

Providing a live datafeed through XML is a bit harder to set up, and if your affiliates are just semi-experienced programmers they could end up bringing your website to its knees with excessive queries to the API.

I'm a big proponent of affiliate datafeeds and have written several articles including one for beginners and one about how feeds can help increase significantly increase conversion rates. Also have a big list of free datafeeds and several datafeed tools that help affiliates build feed pages without having to be technical or doing any programming at all. Additionally go over the issue of datafeeds causing duplicate content penalties with the search engines.

I know this thread is several months old, but this is really great information. I am at the point where I really want to learn how to use datafeeds and appreciate all the information.
