The Poker Affiliate Craze.

Postby Jason Moffatt » Sun Feb 13, 2005 3:26 pm

Ok, many of you have seen my utter naivete on most of my posts here.
Well, I am learning quickly, and am making some decent money. Not enough to cover all my bills, but I am quite happy with the progress I have been making. That said, I plan to no longer come here solely for advice and tips, I thought I should contribute some to others.

As I start to learn about affiliate programs (which I had no idea about 4 weeks ago) I quickly have noticed their potential for quick and passive cash.
After Warren turned me onto ClickBank, I really got an idea about all the affiliate possiblilites out there. Most of the items in ClickBank sell for $50 or less, usually making the downline commision maybe $15-$35 per sale. While this is not bad, I am amazed at the structure of many of the poker affiliate programs.

Yes I know, many of you see gambling sites and instantly are hesitant to click through anything. Yes many of them are total scams, (such as Roulette systems with guarantees to win, "Beat the Slots" etc.), but a few of them (like mine) are really geared towards the customer and not just my profits.

Tell me if you think this affiliate program is good.
Party Poker gives me $65 for every person who deposits a minimum of $50 to play with. If I have more than 10 signups a month, they pay $75 each. Also, many sites will offer a long term residual "Rake" (% the casino takes on each hand). for every time your referral plays. If I sign up a guy who plays 5 or 6 times a week, I am making a small % every time he sits down.

Now, like I said, I am new to the internet, but with the crazy hype that has manifested in the poker world it is not too hard to find people who are interested in playing a few hands. As affiliate marketers I would think this niche would spark a huge interest.

Yes I know I am competing with huge corporate conglomerates who dominate the search engines, and many other marketers, but poker is so huge that there are players all over wanting to play. I encourage you folks to look into the Party Poker affiliate program, or others as I feel the opportunity for some supplemental cash is quite good.

If interested, let me know and I will give you some more inside tips.

Peace

"Spam sucks" that was cute! LOL

I didnt find a link to your affiliate program on the site - can you post it here? I'd like to take a look to see what you set up.

I didnt quite get the gist of your post, I have to admit - is the competition slim on ClickBank for gambling products? Or were you suggesting others create products around this recent 'craze' and set up affiliate programs?

The competition on Click Bank is not slim. Actually there are a lot of products. I would not recommend someone else create a product unless they really knew what they were talking about. Many products can be made with a bit of research, however I feel gambling and poker products should really only come from those who have experience in those fields.

I don't have my own affiliate program, but others will easily be able to sell my product via click bank. I have not put anything up on my site about it just yet because it might take a few more days before my product is visable on Click Bank. Once it is, then anyone can sell it, and i will anounce it on my site.

My post was primarily just mentioning that many others can make nice commisions from either existing poker products, or by just referring people to poker rooms. Many people are selling chips, books, etc. More people are willing to make a $50 deposit into a poker room before they will spend $49 on some ebook. When they deposit $50 into a poker room, they get to keep their money (unless they lose), and hopefully turn it into thousands.

I would rather someone made a deposit into Party Poker via my website
much more than I would want them to buy my course.
My course I profit roughly $35
Party Poker I profit $65-$75

In short I am saying, thousands want to play poker right now. If you are able to find them first, you will make some very nice commisions.
