How Do I Get Affiliates to Promote My Product?

Postby Dave Navarro » Mon Jul 09, 2007 2:14 pm

Forgive the n00b question here, but affiliate marketing is not my specialty :-)

I've just created a product and got it on ClickBank. What are some good strategies for finding affiliates to promote it?

Thanks in advance -

Initially, you will have to get the ball rolling by promoting the affiliate program yourself. As it gets more popular, it will rise in the ranks at the ClickBank Marketplace and take off on its own.

I would suggest that you do a search for your keyword phrases on Google, and choose the top 10-20 website owners and newsletter publishers in the niche. Contact them directly and give them a review copy and affiliate info.

You will want to promote the product to your own list of course, and let them know that they can earn money for referrals if they know others that would enjoy the product.

Thanks, Lynn. So far I have:

  1. Search for your keyword phrases on Google, and choose the top 10-20 website owners and newsletter publishers in the niche. Contact them directly and give them a review copy and affiliate info. (Lynn Terry)
  2. Let your list know that they can earn money for referrals if they know others that would enjoy the product. (Lynn Terry)

... anybody else want to add to the list? :D

You'll want to test the conversion. Then offer your conversion stats to other webmasters. This is a professional approach that will provide you a high chance of JVs.

Contests typically fair pretty well within the affiliate marketing community, I am considering a $500 give-a-way for my affiliates for my current program.
