You pretty much have to use a "landing page" of some sort now, for the most part. Using direct affiliate links (the "Google Cash method" - same as is taught in Google Adwords 123) is not very profitable anymore, unless you are working in a niche that has very little competition.
For that reason, I've been using Rosalind's method lately - what she teaches in - when it comes to Pay-Per-Click and specifically promoting Affiliate Programs.
Her method is to develop affiliate sites around programs, and promote those sites via PPC... which so far, is working out very well for me -- versus trying to do a straight "landing page" that promotes the product and encourages them to click through to the merchant (more of an ad, with an extra step in between).
Of course, the absolute BEST guide on PPC is by Perry Marshall, though he doesnt specifically teach the strategy of promoting affiliate programs. Still, it is a very advanced and helpful guide, so if you get into Adwords heavily... I would definitely recommend it! It would make a great back-up once you've read & began implementing Rosalind's techniques.
