Landing Pages...Your opinions, critiques...

I was doing some research on Google and came across a landing page for an adwords campaign.

I would appreciate your looking at it and giving an opinion and a critique.

I know the real proof is in the stats. but maybe you can give some advice concerning copywriting and preselling experience.

It's not my page, just wondering how you guys would critique different landing pages.

Most landing pages selling anything related to grants, making money, selling info products that I have seen have been one page salesletters. I LOVE seeing something that looks like it has content on it.

I'm actually just starting a case study on one page salesletters vs. a one page site that LOOKS like it has content on it...

This site seems to do that. It does offer a few different things, but it's a "Buy ME" site. I think (notice I said think) that content "looking" sites that don't draw the visitor away from the sales message is something everyone should look into.

How many here are numb to the one or two page familiar salesletters?

The page is too busy and the font is too small. First impressions are very important to me. Of course different types of landing pages will work with different markets... it all depends on what you're promoting.

Don't get too bogged down with the research. Put something up and then track and tweak it. If it doesn't convert, move on to something else.

Also, you're on to a good start. Look at other landing pages in the market you're pursuing. If they all look similar, try something different that will stand out. That will give you an edge.

Hi Simon,

When advertising on Adwords or Overture, you should use a landing page vs direct affiliate link. Overture doesnt allow it, and Adwords - well, it's nearly impossible to get traffic if there are *any* other advertisers promoting the same program (as Google with only show the top two bidders using the same root domain).

Another question about landing pages.

I am working on one that is a "reviews" page. It targets a specific type of software, but three different brands of the same software with a 1-5 star system.

I include a picture of the product, give it a "star" rating on a scale from 1-5 then discuss the features so visitors can compare.

What experience has anyone had with this type of landing page?
