Discrepency in count between Overture and Google

Hello All;

I hope someone can help me with 2 questions. With alot of help from my friends on THIS board (as well as Lynn), I've started my first Adwords campaign. The main keyword showed over 50,000 searches on Overture and only had 2 ads in Google. So I got in for 5cents. BUT, I'm not getting any hits. Google is estimating 5 to 10 hits a day!!
Is this really possible. I mean to have Overture show such huge numbers and Google have a substantially different count?

P.S. Does anyone know of a resource of some ideas to research a niche for an Adwords campain.
