Maybe we need some explaination of definitions here. When you see the heading PPC it refers to a way to purchase advertising as opposed to a way to make money by clicking on links. It is unlikely you will ever make much money (if any at all) clicking links.
On the other hand, if you have a solid site that provides good info for your visitors, you could make money with affiliate programs or adsense ads. The "Pay-Per-Click" is a way to get visitors to yor site. You pay, through Google Adwords for example, so many cents for a click through to your site. You bid on keywords, say 25 cents for the term "fitted slipcovers" and when Google sends you a visitor who is searching for that term it costs you a quarter. (When somebody searches for that term, your ad is displayed but you don't pay unless they click your ad.)
You get solid, targeted traffic. But without good conversion, you can spend a lot of money fast.
