Someone sent me this article and I thought it was worth throwing out for discussion -

Some interesting points, but I *really* doubt this is what Google has in mind.

Even though fraud occurs, I think most *smart* advertisers who use Adwords know the return they're getting on their ad dollars and take the appropriate action.

If I can keep buying .05 clicks and generate a 40% to 50% return, I can stomach a little fraud... I also have a hard time believing that Google would shut off the revenue stream that made half the company millionaires...

I would hate to see the demise of CPC/PPC. Right now...the summer months....I invest @ $500 a month on Google PPC. I usually take in an average of $4000 a month from my PPC. With costs and a little fraud thrown on top, I'm sure, I am still making 800% on my investment. I love PPC. Sure is a lot easier...and profitable...than free advertising methods, posting in forums until I'm blue in the face, buying bogus leads, running expensive and ineffective email campaigns, scamming, being a "used car salesman" to everyone I come in contact with, etc.

I believe this is just Google's method of getting into the affliate programs market. By incorporating the new Cost-Per-Action system into the widely successful AdSense program, Google would immediately tap into thousands of publishers. I don't think they're out to kill CPC/PPC.
