I have several questions about PPC.
I've seen people mention "investing" in adsense or adwords. What do they mean by this?
Also, bidding. What is it and how does it work?
If you don't mind, can you elaborate on the differences between ppc and other types of affiliate business?

PPC is not an 'affiliate business'. It stands for Pay-Per-Click and it is a form of online advertising. Basically you take out an ad (place an ad) on the major search engines, and instead of paying a flat rate - you pay for each click. Every time someone clicks on your ad, you pay a set amount per click.
You bid for ad placement - to get your ad placed higher in the list of ads shown for the keywords/phrases you choose. How much you bid determines the price you pay per click.
