has anybody had a bad experience with Miva PPC?

Postby Mitch Van Dusen » Thu Jun 01, 2006 1:12 am

I was obviously drawn to Miva because it's very cost effective (in theory), however recently I have noticed a huge difference between my Miva stats and my web stats.

I'm using miva currently to drive traffic to an affiliate site. According to the affiliate statistics, I've only driven 2 raw clicks within the past 7 days.

However, according to Miva, I have driven 42!!!

I have asked around other forums and others have said they've had similar experiences. Does anybody have similar stories, or am I just going crazy??

Thanks

Miva

Postby wthomas46 » Tue Dec 12, 2006 10:59 am

I used them quite extensively when they were Findwhat with good success. Have tried them a few times since they became Miva and received little in the way of results. I receive lots of traffic and go through my funds quickly with little return. It could just be my offer and not Miva. I still think they have a great format and features, so I will probably try them again in the future.

One thing about MIVA to look out for is click frau - or so I hear. If you use them, make sure to keep an eye on your campaigns (check the number of clicks you get every 15 mnutes or so), and also use a tracking software on your landing page such as http://Statcounter.com. The reason I mention this is because I have heard about people getting charged for something like 1000 clicks, while their web tracking stats only get about 40 unique hits. Be on your guard!

MIVA

I would agree that differences between what tracking software show and what MIVA indicates can very quite a bit, but I've also found the same with other smaller PayPerClick services such as GoClick. I don't know if there is a 100% fool proof method to recognize Click Fraud but any advice to limit it is appreciated.

Hi Guys,

I have had a miserable time with Miva. I've used them for about the past two years and found that they have steadily gone down hill.

For starters their system is very s-l-o-w and just recently I added some money for a new campaign. In doing so I paused my other campaigns because they were doing so poorly. The next day I logged in and the $50 I added was used on a campaign I had paused. :?

What's even worse is the $50 went a LOT faster this time and it brought me 'NO' traffic. :x

I emailed them right away and got responses that didn't make any sense. I've emailed them back twice since then asking them for an explanation that makes sense and they're not responding at all.

I have a feeling I've lost $50 but I won't EVER use them again and I caution everyone to be VERY CAREFUL when using them.

Warmest Regards,
Elizabeth

Elizabeth:

I can understand where you're coming from. I didn't have much luck with the last campaign that I ran. Although I was able to set a daily budget amount, I got nil response from my listing. I'm hesitant to try them at the present time.
