If you leave the blog name field empty, it won't show up in the title area of the brower window - and it is also a faily important aspect of SEO if you've used keywords in the name.
You can remove the code that calls up the blog name text - usually in the 'header' part if the blog template - every blog theme is a bit different though so you may have to poke around.

I can't work out where to put it- I thought I would use the indent idea. This is the header- do you mind showing me where to put this?

Remove the bold part and it will drop the text.
