Hi Kara
great to chat with you again
see, now I am thinking like you, Lynn!
(well, I could never be as smart, savvy and such )
I was actually going to write in my last email that the only way the government is going to make a significant difference on this issue is if they experience it themselves - hardcore - like for 2 -3 months straight and get sooo pissed off and frustrated, that they will do ANYTHING to make sure they don't have spam come into their email box or waste their time as business owners one minute more on it
so, i propose: have them operate a business online, market online, ciruclate a few items with their email info in it, etc etc
for 1-3 months, and THEN come back to the voting table.
I think things would be different, not in their vote (as that obviously favored us) but in turning their band-aid fix into a full fledge campaign ---hmmm...sinking actual money into this might be a start!
I think Kara you have got something there --the fact that we soon might be paying to email.
Sad, but true
sighing with ya Kara
Luckily, i stayed away from SpamCop and now after reading both your stories, sooo glad I did!
And it's stories like these that make the consumer online not want to purchase a 'spam fighting' software and such - which makes it harder for the marketers of these products, and possible future products.
But I'll say this...whoever
does come up with an absolute fail proof solution will be one wealthy individual!
Abbey:)
I think the consensus is unanimous.
