Hand Written Envelopes

Postby TarheelHosting » Fri May 20, 2005 2:22 pm

Folks,

Wanted to draw on the expereince of the board. Has anybody tried direct mail with hand adressed envelopes (I mean REAL hand addressed vs a font that looks like handwriting)?

If so what was the response like? How much did they cost and where did you get them?

Many thanks in advance

I havent... but I can say that I've taken notice of mail that arrives in a hand-addressed envelope - much more so than printed envelopes or labels.

I'd be interested in hearing more on this too, if anyone has experience with it.

I would rather see a handwritten envelope. It shows the person put some time into it instead of blindly using a mailing list.

Hey Simon,

I think handwritten addresses are a great way to boost letter open rates and I'd be curious to hear what you're up to with the service you plan to offer.

Steve et al,

Sorry for the delay in replying - I have been getting the details together.

I'm not sure of what the policy is on this site, so I won't openly advertise. If anybody wants more info on this service then please PM me and I'll fill you in on th details.

Feel free to post your link - I'd be interested in seeing what you came up with as well ;) I'm fairly lenient as a moderator, and when there is interest I dont have a problem with openly discussing websites or business models!

It's fly-by ad posting and blatant advertising that gets deleted. Anything that is part of an ongoing discussion between regular members is usually fine by me.

Lynn,

Thanks for being lenient!!! We are still getting the website together but the pricing comes out at 15 cents per envelope with a minimum order of 1000 (discounts for larger quantities!). There will be a small shipping charge (around $15 as well)

I think as a "thank you" to SSWT we would waive the shipping charge!

That's very kind!

Please do post the link here for us when you have the site live.
