Would you pay for leads?

Hi Gang ~ I'm a Designer with Home & Garden Party, a party plan business (not really MLM). I frequent the WAHM and Mommy boards for info and cheap advertising.

Many of them have directed leads comprising "pre-screened" people looking for a way to stay at home with their kids, augment family income, etc.

Obviously the screening form questions are important, but what is your opinion about paying for these leads? Anyone experience this firsthand?

I haven't tried it with my direct sales business yet, but did try them for two previous MLM businesses. They took a LOT of time and you have got to have thick skin! I would get tons of no's before I got a single yes to even have them allow me to send them information.

I think direct sales companies are better off purchasing advertising than leads. That way your prospects are responding to you because they want to know about YOUR business.

Hi Lisa,

I've tried purchased leads from different sources with indifferent results.

We are now using a generic lead generation system which has generated much more activity and higher quality leads.
