How is your direct sales business doing? There's been a lot of talk about direct sales doing well during a recession, but there have been some company closings lately. And some public companies reported 1st quarter results did not measure up to last year's.

I'm sure more people join companies during tough economic times. But are consultants selling?

I often think I'd like to get back into Avon, but, then I never do.... I probably mostly just want it to get products for myself and my family, anyway.

I had joined The Scented Tub, but it was mostly to get the discounts for myself since I like to buy from there. I dropped out of the program this month and decided to just buy from other reps that I knew.

I have been noticing a lot more rep recruiting going on around the web, so I tend to agree that lots of people are signing up but I am curious if sales are good right now. I'm sure it's a tough market.

I really am no longer doing direct sales although I am a rep for Jerky Direct just so I can get the jerky on autoship and promote it on my weight loss/fitness site. Going to work on promoting it more on my site and if in about 6-12 months I don't get any bites, I'll probably drop out and just order from a rep.

I was sad to hear that Megan's Pantry, a company I had been with before is closing it's doors. Two of the other companies I started with did the same and I miss them so much (partyshop and Our Family Favorites).

I do sometimes miss the team building part but I much prefer affiliate/Internet marketing (and hubby was happy not to have to do home parties with me any more LOL).

Never say never but I won't even think about it until I have my weight loss/fitness site and blog going full steam.
