Old Time MLM vs Present Marketing

Postby jaggiegill » Mon Aug 13, 2007 12:22 am

Hi everyone,

You hear almost the exact thing on every home based business sales page these days, "no more cold calling" , "no belly to belly marketing", this MLM requires no wasting time training members, and every other possible old fashioned method of recruiting people into your downline.

Is anybody still following these old methods and having success with them today? Even through the concept of belly to belly marketing was a time consuming thing to do, do you think that people had created better relationships and trust by actually talking to the people in person rather than over the net? Or has time passed by and those methods are in the history books, whats your input on the pros and cons of old time MLM recruiting?

Thanks for all your input in advance!

Before the internet the best way to build a MLM business
was the old way with meetings etc. I cannot even count
at how many hotel meetings I drew circles on the board.

With the advent of the Internet everything changed and
most people do not want to go to meetings anymore.

To be successful now you must adapt and use the power
of the Internet to build relationships. Brand yourself not
some company. Attract people to YOU not some company.

For example look at Lynn Terry, she is always branding
herself and using attraction marketiong. She is known
as the ClickNewz and selfstarters forum lady.

Lynn's brand, as I see it, is that she has set up web sites
to help people who want to learn how to make money
from home. She goes out of her way to answer questions
and be helpful to them. She has an incredible brand.

I looked at your site and please don't be offended by this
but it not branding you. It is branding Joel Broughton.

All the work you do to drive traffic to the site is for Joel's
benefit not yours.

There are several products on the market about branding
and attraction marketing for MLMers. Prices range from over
$500 to $27.

One of the best that is priced way under $100 is at

Go to google and put in "attraction marketing" or
"branding you" Many pages will come up and you can start
doing some research.

I am working on a free report but it won't be ready for at
least a couple of months.
