Article marketing - removing special characters in .TXT

Hello everyone!

I have articles in DOC format, and want to easily convert them to TXT format while removing those 'special characters' (ASCII?) that show up if you just copy and paste.

I am currently accomplishing this by copying, pasting, and replacing characters.. for example: from ” to ".

There simple must be a freeware text editor designed to do this automatically.. and I am too busy (lazy) to look for it at the moment .

Let me know if you're aware of one.. or even if you know what I'm on about!

I do the find and replace too, I haven't found a program yet either.

Hi,

I use NoteTab light to handle my text documents. I convert to text from Word, open up in NoteTab Light and save and it removes formatting and strange character codes.
