This may be kind of a dumb question, but what's the difference between alt tags and image tags? What difference does it make when talking about search engine optimization?

Perfect! So when looking up a certain sites keyword phrase density, I shouldn't be the least bit concerned about the percentage for the image tag? Just the alt tag, correct?

With the keyword density analyzer ( http://www.keyworddensity.com ). When I type in the keyword phrase, then the URL, it shows me the density for the following:

Title
Meta Description
Meta Keywords
Visible Text
Alt Tags
Comment Tags
Domain Name
Image Tags
Opition Tags
Reference Tags
